Our Beginning
Long Creek Farms, located in north Walton County, in Northwest Florida, began in 2002 as a joint effort on the part of Larry and Carol Lord, along with Carol's parents, Jim and Theresa Crooke. We began with two Arabian mares from Joe and Jean Schriver of Miami, Florida; RA VELVET BASQUE and SWEET DREEMS, both BASK grandaughters, bay and grey respectivley. Sweet Dreems is a daughter of COGNAC, one of the highest producing sons of BASK.
Velvet, a classic bay, died in March of 2003, leaving us the 1985 grey as our broodmare. We wanted to breed and raise foals as part of our farm activity.

Our First Breeding
We connected with some Arabian owners in our area who owned a couple of fantastic stallions. Steve and Melissa Forberg, of Windmaster Farms, became important people for us as we began our breeding program. At that time they had two Russian stallions. GLF VALENTINO, a bay PADRON son, was the one that bred our grey mare. The other stallion on their farm was the imported Russian, ASPIRIN, one of the few, if not the only stallion of the legendary ASWAN alive in the United States today.
We had a successful breeding, resulting in a bay filly born the next spring.

Our First Foal
March 18, of 2004, our first foal was born, a bay mare. We began practicing our imprinting skills, as we were there at the time of birth. Lucky for her that we were because she was born incapsuled in the sac, as the front hooves did not pierce the sac as they should have. Had we not been there to tear open the sac, she could possibly have suffocated. Thus, her name, TINOS LUCKEE DREEM.
We bred the grey back that spring, this time to a new stallion at Windmaster Farms, NOBLES GALLALEO. Gallaleo is a nationally shown stallion of great Russian bloodlines, as well. This breeding resulted in a nice chestnut filly, GALLALEOS SWEET LACE, born in 2005.
In the following years, we picked up several other fine mares. One of these is notably, a dark bay daughter of the highly promoted black stallion, NV BEAU BEY. We had 3 babies born in 2006, and we are ready to find good homes for several of these mares and young horses.
